Multiple Advantages of accurate entries

< 1 min read

A more accurate (usually more patient) entry:

  • Means that the trade is more likely to succeed as the more precise the entry, the less effort the market needs to make to get to the first TP.
  • Makes it easier to manage risk as the closer the entry is to a level, the less risk I have to leave on the table when I want to allow the trade to retest the level.
  • It often means I can add to a trade because a precise entry is more likely to be de-risked when the marekt returns to the level for a retest.
The fear I have when entering trades is back-to-front: I am more likley to miss if I DO rush into it than if I DON’T – for the reasons given above.
The maret didn’t do what I expected here – but because the Dax does generally react to levels, if my entry is accurate enough, I can still get to +20 and therefore avoid a loss
