Taking a straight break is a recipe for disaster

< 1 min read

PA context was extemely bullish and I can see from this trade that I was keen to gte on board. But a straight break of a TL – there is always a better entry than this this available.

This is a video of the PA around the TL.

When I looked at this trade on a static chart it looked like madness but on watching this video, it looked like a nice set up and was actually valid.

This trade needed two attempts and to take the second one, I need to feel in control which would have been easier had I taken the long at the retest of the TL instead of using a striaght break.

Yes it made sense, but now I see the M3 chart, I can see that it broke an important rule – the entry was outside the Bolli Band on. By using the Bolli Band rule, entering the long is made much less stressful as well as more likely to succeed.

According to my rules, this was a sell – not a buy – the sell with the correct entry hit 1:1.
